Abstract

The intricate interplay between glucose metabolism and cardiovascular health constitutes a dynamic nexus that profoundly influences human well-being. Elevated blood glucose levels, stemming from conditions like hyperglycemia and diabetes, exert a multifaceted impact on cardiovascular function. Chronic hyperglycemia, characteristic of diabetes, initiates a cascade of pathophysiological processes, including endothelial dysfunction, oxidative stress, inflammation, and dyslipidemia, which collectively promote atherosclerosis and vascular complications. Moreover, aberrant glucose metabolism disrupts myocardial energetics, impairing cardiac contractility and predisposing individuals to heart failure. This intricate relationship underscores the imperative of comprehensive management strategies targeting both glycemic control and cardiovascular risk factors to mitigate the detrimental consequences of dysregulated glucose metabolism on cardiovascular health.
